Hi folks!  Happy encroaching holidays!  Three quick updates today:

Content Conversion Guide Kickstarter

Due to a lot of backer requests, we've launched a small KS project to gauge and fuel interest in a Content Conversion Guide, which documents and elaborates on what we've done to convert 1,600 monsters from Pathfinder First Edition into 5E and P2E edition rules.

ABRE P1E PDF Fullfillment This Week

This week, I'll be triggering fulfillment of the Pathfinder First Edition version of the Bestiary.  So if you haven't already done so, please complete the BackerKit survey as I will be using that to drive fulfillment rolls.

5E & P2E Edition Progress

The 5E edition of the Bestiary fully underway in layout now.  It's my entire daily focus.  I've developed a desktop app tool to facilitate the layout--not fully automated since I've determined that's impossible with InDesign, but it accelerates things for sure.  It's taken me from a 20-minute-per-monster cycle time a month ago down to about 5 minutes or so per monster.  That's where it needs to be in order to meet my expectations.

I'm super thrilled with the output, and have reviewed it with some 5E friends, who have recommended some tweaks here and there.  The layout is crisp, organized, and consistent, and it's loads more easy on the eyes than the Skelettin example from oh-so-long-ago.

Here's an example just to get a sense of the visual effect:

Progress / Status / Timing

I had been planning, and tracking, to complete the 5E and P2E editions of Volume 1 by Christmas.  I'm behind that target, which I'm sure comes as little surprise to many, but I wanted to be transparent.  The big impact has been my Day Job, which has been demanding leading up the end of the year.  The other time hit has been the streamlining of my layout tool, which I'm sure nobody cares about, but the good news is that nearly all of that time has been an investment in things have gotten much easier and quicker now.

So Volume 1 will take more time, unfortunately, but the remaining volumes will be quicker as a result.

BackerKit Clarification for "Complete PDF" Backers

Thanks for the clarification!  For those pledging at the "Complete PDF" level, please note that up until now, BackerKit was showing only the Abridged PDFs as part of that level.  Rest assured that all of the complete PDFs will be part of that level; I've added a SKU explicitly to that pledge level to clarify.

No action is required; just wanted to clarify that.  :)

Timing for BackerKit & Pre-Orders

BackerKit Surveys

I've completed setting up BackerKit, and it's in review now.  Should be able to trigger things by the end of this week.

Pre-Orders

The pre-order site is live, and I can confirm it works because I've already gotten an order.  :)  Check it out here.

Production Update

Aquilae: Bestiary of the Realm for Pathfinder 1E is now completed.  I'm putting the finishing touches on the setup and it should be published on DriveThruRPG later this week.

I realize most of you are eager for the P2E and/or 5E editions; this is still an important milestone as it means I'll be commencing with the layout for these two editions starting, oh, probably next week.  :)

To clarify: if you pledged already, you DO NOT have to do anything with the pre-order site.  It is just for those coming late to the party who want to participate, but weren't able to pledge via KS.

Hi all... just a quick note on two topics.

BackerKit

Next week, Kickstarter should release funds; at that point, I'll be sending out BackerKit surveys so you can choose Add-Ons, system/edition preferences, provide mailing addresses, and so on.  I'll post another update when this happens.

Pre-Orders

I've gotten a number of folks asking to join the campaign who came across it after it had concluded.  As soon as the BackerKit survey goes live, I'll also have a Pre-Order site where those late to the party can still join up and pledge.  I'll post an update about this, too, and will update the link on the KS campaign button to point to the pre-order site once it's up.

Hope that helps clarify some things... now, if you'll excuse me, it's back to laying out Volume 6 of the P1E edition (78% complete already as of this writing)... :)
